FAQ
Answers to common TelegramOS questions: accounts, bans, proxies, pricing, privacy, data limits and support.
Accounts
How many accounts can I run? Your plan includes 10 rented accounts on Starter, 30 on Growth, and 100 on Agency. Rented and owned accounts together are capped per plan: 2 on Free, 25 on Starter, 200 on Growth, 2,000 on Agency (20 during the 7-day trial).
Can I use the same phone number for multiple accounts? No. Each Telegram account requires a unique phone number.
What happens if my rented account gets banned? It is not replaced. A banned rental stays yours until its term ends; release it to the pool for free or rent a new bundle.
Can I recover a deleted account? No. Deletion is irreversible for both rented and owned accounts.
Proxies
Can I use a VPN instead of a proxy? The platform requires a proxy endpoint (HTTP or SOCKS5). A VPN configured on the server does not count. The platform needs explicit proxy credentials per account.
How do I check if my proxy is working? The platform runs a connectivity test (reach a public host, fetch the exit IP, record IP and latency) when a proxy is added or assigned, and every worker start checks that the account's traffic really leaves through the proxy; a leak pauses the account. The proxy status is on the account detail page.
Can I share a proxy across users? No. A proxy belongs to the user who added it and is bound to one account at a time.
Automation
Can I schedule messages to send at a specific time? Yes. Tasks support scheduled execution with a specific timestamp.
What happens if my account hits a flood-wait? Its status does not change. The platform puts a gate on the account for the wait plus a few seconds (longer for warming accounts), puts the failed task back in the queue, and holds the account's other tasks until the gate lifts. Nothing is dropped.
How do I pause automation for an account? Set the account status to paused from the Accounts page. All automation for that account is suspended until you set it back.
Bots
Can I host a bot without the platform? Yes; nothing forces you to register a bot here. A bot that is added to the platform receives its updates either through a webhook the platform registers with Telegram or through polling. You cannot point a platform bot at your own server, so a bot you want to run on your own infrastructure should simply not be added here.
How many bots can I have? Up to 3 on Starter, 10 on Growth, and 100 on Agency.
Can my bot send messages to users who haven't interacted with it? No. Telegram policy requires bots to only message users who have started a chat with the bot.
Billing
Can I switch plans mid-cycle? Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately, and the unused days of the old plan are credited to your wallet. Downgrades also take effect immediately. On a crypto-invoice subscription, cancel and subscribe to the new plan.
What payment methods do you accept? Cryptocurrency via NOWPayments (BTC, SOL, TRX, USDT-TRC20 and others) and Telegram Stars. Card payments are not available.
Do I get a refund if I cancel early? No. Cancelling stops the renewal and the paid period runs to its end. Upgrading mid-cycle credits the unused days of the old plan to your wallet. There is no refund policy in the product; refund requests are handled manually by support.
What happens if my payment fails? The subscription enters past-due status. There is no automatic retry: you get a daily reminder with the days left and can pay at any time during a 3-day grace period. After that, the subscription expires, and rented accounts stay reserved for you for 5 more days before they return to the pool.
Can my wallet go negative? No. A charge needs a balance at least as large as the amount. If an auto-renewal cannot be covered, the subscription goes past due until you top up and pay.
Do marketplace purchases come out of the wallet? No. Digital listings are card-only (and card payments are currently off); account, channel, group and bot resales are paid directly to the seller's crypto address through the store bot. The wallet pays for bundles, outright account purchases, proxy data, deletes and subscriptions.
Limits
What is the warm-up period and why does it exist? Warm-up is the first ~5 days of a new account. The account can send from day 0, but its hourly budget starts at 3 messages and steps up to 25 before it becomes active at 30. It exists to mimic natural account behavior and reduce the risk of Telegram flagging the account as automated.
Can I skip warm-up? Yes, with POST /api/accounts/{id}/skip-warmup: owned accounts any time, rented accounts after 3 days. Rented accounts that already warmed up in the pool arrive active.
What happens when I hit a rate limit? The platform returns HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header equal to the window length. Login, registration and password endpoints are limited per IP; 2FA attempts and team changes per user. There is no automatic IP block after repeated 429s. The full table is under Limits.
Is there a limit on how many groups I can join per day? The platform does not set a hard limit, but Telegram may rate-limit group joins. The platform respects Telegram's rate limits and holds an account's tasks behind the flood-wait gate when a flood-wait error is received.
Security
How is my data encrypted? Telegram session strings and proxy credentials are Fernet-encrypted, bot tokens use AES-256-GCM, and webhook and TOTP secrets are Fernet-encrypted. Passwords, API keys and refresh tokens are stored only as hashes. Message bodies, attachments, analytics data and database backups are not encrypted at the application layer. Backups are stored on the same host as the database; there is no off-site copy. There is no external KMS and no automatic key rotation. All public traffic is HTTPS (TLS 1.2 or 1.3) behind Cloudflare. Details are on Security.
Can I export my data? There is no one-click export. You can export the session string of an owned account (Accounts > Export session), read your audit log through the API, and download the analytics report as CSV. For everything else, ask through in-app Support; the export is prepared manually. See Policies & Rights.
What happens to my data if I delete my workspace? There is no self-service workspace deletion. Ask through in-app Support from the owner account. The operators deactivate the user, delete owned accounts, return or delete rented ones, and remove the user record. Backups age out on their own: the daily dump is kept 7 days and point-in-time backups 3 days. See Policies & Rights.
Does the platform sell my data? No. Data is handled by the platform and the sub-processors listed on Privacy Controls (hosting, Cloudflare, the proxy provider, payment rails, and AI providers when you use AI features). It is not sold.
How do I report a security vulnerability? Through in-app Support, or via @TelOsNotif_Bot if you do not have an account. The process on /security targets acknowledgement within 24 hours and remediation of verified high-severity issues within 14 days. There is no bug bounty.
General
Is there an API? Yes. Create an API key under Settings > API keys and send it as the X-API-Key header. Keys carry per-key permissions — read/write plus an optional area — and can be revoked at any time. The full endpoint reference is at API.
Can I use custom domains? No. Custom domains for webhook endpoints or workspace URLs are not available.
Is the platform available in my country? The platform does not restrict sign-up by country. Whether Telegram, the proxy provider or the payment rails (NOWPayments, Telegram Stars) work from your location is outside the platform's control.
Can I run the platform on my own infrastructure? No. The platform is offered as a SaaS service only. Self-hosting is not supported.
How do I contact support? Use the Support bubble in the dashboard for everything: billing, accounts, bugs, sales, security disclosures and privacy requests. Before you sign up, message @TelOsNotif_Bot. There are no support mailboxes; /contact routes every topic to the same chat, and /changelog is a release log, not a status page. See Support.
Scaling
Can I have more than 100 accounts? Agency includes 100 rented accounts and allows 2,000 accounts in total. Extra bundles cost $1 each up to the plan cap, and owned accounts count toward the same cap. For anything beyond that, ask through in-app Support.
Can I have multiple workspaces? Not as separate workspaces. Your user account is the workspace: wallet and subscription are per user. Teams share resources instead: a member sees the union of everything their roles grant across every team they belong to, and there is no workspace switcher. See Teams.
Does the platform support bulk operations? Yes. Bulk proxy import (100 per request), bulk activate/deactivate of accounts, bulk listener, safety and contact-policy settings, and batch session import (ZIP up to 50 MB). Bulk delete is refused for rented accounts. There is no bulk group leave; leaving a group is a workflow action run per account.
Data portability
Can I take my owned accounts to another platform? Yes. Accounts > Export session returns the Telethon session string of an owned account; every export is audit-logged and the export is refused while vault mode is on. Rented accounts cannot be exported.
Can I migrate from another platform to TelegramOS? Not directly. Import each account as an owned account: a Telegram Desktop tdata ZIP, a Telethon session string (single or batch), or a live login by phone code or QR.
What format are session files in? Import accepts Telegram Desktop tdata archives as a ZIP and Telethon string sessions. Export produces a Telethon string session.
